Zweli Tunyiswa is the CEO and co-founder of Open Wound Research. Open Wound Research conducts wound care research, data-science, and software development with a focus on Real World data, probabilistic modeling, market analytics, and application development.

Zweli is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, an experienced healthcare executive with 20 years of experience across different specialties, and a statistical data scientist who specializes in Bayesian methods.

Dr. Scarborough is the Director of Education and the Fellowship program

for United Wound Healing. Her healthcare career as a physical therapist

spans over 40 years, having practiced across the continuum of care. She is a prolific author published in various wound management books and

periodicals. In addition, Pamela has served on multiple professional boards and committees to advance the profession of physical therapy and wound management as an interdisciplinary health care specialty. She is a Fellow of the Association for Advanced Wound Care who presents nationally to multidisciplinary audiences on wound prevention and management topics.

As a co-founder of the Wound Certification Prep Course, an intensive

wound management review course, she has empowered countless

clinicians to achieve their wound education and certification goals as

wound specialists. Dr. Scarborough’s current focus is on improving clinical outcomes in wound prevention and management, particularly in post-acute care settings. Through in-person and online education, she works tirelessly to equip healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver current evidence-based wound care to patients with hard-to-heal wounds. When not traveling, she lives a quiet life in the Texas Hill Country with her husband, Gregory Dean, and cherished feline, Mr. Kitty.

Fueled by a mission to transform healthcare from reactionary to preventative, Dr. Pulapaka has pivoted from her surgical podiatry practice ( the first and longest-running female surgical practice in West Volusia County) to embrace a broader vision. Her passion lies in empowering patients through lifestyle medicine, as evidenced by her groundbreaking achievement – becoming the first podiatrist board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine. She holds certifications in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell and Culinary Health Education Fundamentals Coaching from Harvard. Dr. Loan Lam is the Medical Director of Wound Services at United Vein and Vascular Centers. She graduated from Rice University, received her medical degree from Barry University, and completed her podiatric surgical residency at Yale New Haven Health System in New Haven, CT.  She is certified in wound, hyperbaric medicine, and lymphedema therapy.  She has authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented numerous wound conference research posters, is a PI for multiple clinical research trials, and is a national and international speaker on behalf of several organizations.  

Dr. Lam is a member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society, National Lymphedema Network, Wound Healing Society, Wound Care Collaborative Community, American Professional Wound Care Association, and Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing. She is a long-time volunteer and board member of the American Cancer Society.

She also serves on the board of the Save a Leg, Save a Life Foundation.

Besides medicine, her wonderful family, multiple pets, and family farm, her other loves include running races and playing amateur hockey.

Cam Ayala, widely recognized for his appearances on ABC’s The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, brings more than celebrity to the keynote stage—he brings lived experience. Born with primary lymphedema, Ayala underwent dozens of surgeries before a life-changing above-knee amputation in 2022. 

His journey from pain to purpose now fuels his work as a product specialist with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where he supports fellow amputees and patients with chronic wounds.
